Work:
Essentially home schooled in art by my mother, art has always just been in my life! I went to school to learn other things, but art was in our home, the mountains & leisure activities; it was what we did for fun.

I’m best known for my watercolors, printmaking & graphic designs. My work experience is more diversified, including pen & ink freelance work, photography, mixed media, large acrylic murals, oil and pastel. I love the experience of learning processes and applications for all sorts of mediums; dreaming up ways to teach myself and “problem solve.” My working mottos: “Don’t fence me in!” & “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm!”

Teaching:
In the process of “dreaming up ways” to teach myself, I’ve learned one of the best ways is to “hang around” other artists. I am a reluctant teacher, albeit I find myself teaching all the time; perhaps because I feel I am learning more than I teach and because I also work full time as a nurse at Northwest Medical Center.

I enjoy sharing the PRACTICE of art with others. I am apt to be the one to try something as an experiment and share the results, to push someone to “stretch” if they feel ready and support alternative ways of thinking about “success/failure.”
