Suzanne Hesh, Alice Vinson and Peggy Hazard created a panel for Los Desconocidos’ Migrant Quilt, a project recording the names of approximately 5,000 people who died along the US/Mexico border. The mission of Los Desconocidos is to raise awareness about the causes of migration and the policies that have created the immigration crisis. Each individual panel is stitched from jeans gathered at lay-up sites in the Sonoran Desert. The panel employed embroidery, digital printing, and appliqué.

TDS Associates Donate Artwork to Tucson's Non-Profit Community

Spearheaded by one of The Drawing Studio's founding members, Sue Day, our Associate Members have been giving works of art as their way of expressing solidarity with the great family of non-profits that support the Tucson community in countless ways. Some are auctioned or sold, others grace the walls of Habitat Homes when they are given to their new owners. We think of it as another way that art serves, both in practical ways and in support of the spirit.
